Important Alert - Threaded Comment Problem and Issues!

I guess it's been a blessing in disguise that the threaded comment, a new feature of Blogger commenting system won't work at SB for the time being. Why? It's because as per observation, it's not working as fine as we expect it to work with our blogs. Today I will basically site my experiences so far.

Not all, but most of your blogs which have this threaded commenting style were:

1. Jumping me to your comment form! When you have the read more option, when I click read more or your post title it will supposedly bring me to your post, but this time, I have to scroll the page again back there because threaded comment give me the hassle shortcut.

2. The worst for me here, when you set your blog to show the full post, not the read more style, when I click the link of your add comments, do you know what happened? It takes me to forever loading! Blank page, your blog loads a lot slower...

I may sound so absurd but this is the truth right here at the Firefox I am using. Not all of us got the time to wait, LOL. Anyway, I want to know your experiences so far... if you did the same, please try to consider using the full page or pop comments for the main time. I know Blogger Team will give us the fix soon!

And I guess that time, when I will put the code for threaded comment here at SB, it will work already.

(As for my lost and corrupted files, most of them are there safe in my new PC, two important excel workbooks are still corrupted, I have them already but it can't be opened or else it gave me the unreadable values. Soon, I am still hopeful someone can help me fix them, but for now, life is back to normal.)

How Did I Recover Almost All My Lost Files Free?

"We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

My sincere apology to our dear readers and friends, my sincere apology to the entire SB Community. Lately, I told you that I was having a technical problem here with my work, and I need some time to solve it before it'll become worse. Now good news as I am about to solve it completely. In this post I will share to you my entire experience, the fear that I have and the big hope that I can get back all the important files that I lost.

The documents that were corrupted or accidentally deleted on the hard drive of my computer were priceless. They hold the value of the company. It's life. I was on a rush last Saturday, after the technician installed a new program on my new CPU, I took the time collecting all my files at one folder in local desk D. I had my 4gb USB ready for file transfer, but what happened was totally unexpected, files were gone both in both mentioned devices. Maybe it was a harmful virus, but we got no time to go on with it because it's already too late.

For a moment, I was about to panic but I kept still on my table not to let everyone know about the incident. As I told Sui, it was the live test he mentioned on my recent post (I used he to specify an unknown gender LOL). Thanks to all my friends who have shown support and encouragement, I really appreciate your concern to me. I was worried, but the hope that I can still fix everything is abundant to keep me up and sane! I spend most of my Sunday searching for methods and ways on how to recover the lost and corrupted files! Now I got them back except for some. Today I am still trying to repair my latest excel spreadsheets which need to be repaired...

AND ONE THING, I won't recover my files without the help of Pandora Recovery! I stumbled upon that very helpful file recovery software without me or the company spend a single dime! It's totally free. It may not be 100% working, but it did recover almost all my deleted or lost files during my lunch break! How amazing is that guys?

Again thank you to all my friends here who shared some prayer and concern, thank you for my Big Sister Sagi who always encourage me, and most specially to my beloved B who always lift me up!

For those blogs I follow, I am not too far away blogger friends, I will be at your blogs soon!

Another Live Test - An Important Reminder

NOTICE: This is an important reminder to all of us!

On my recent post, Sui generis Writer told me it was my live test, well, I just simply had sent you to nowhere with that particular topic, scribbled to clear my mind with something troubling me. I thought I was over but it isn't.

This is something serious.

I deleted all my important files... all of them are for BIR Report Purposes. I am too worried, it's priceless and I badly needed every single file I got there, mostly MS Word and MS Excel, and Relief Reports for Sales and Purchases.

My mistake - I had my new CPU then I needed to transfer all my files there, but I chose to use my USB to do it, which was wrong! Now I shared this with you to give you the reminder.

1. Back Up you important files in CD's
2. If you have networked connections, transfer files through it and never use USB!
3. Do not rush, always take your time.

As for now, the technician promise me to help retrieve the files, I talked with my B also and she told me I can get them back, at least it helped a lot. I just need the spirit now. I am also searching for software to recover the lost data. A technician on an internet cafe also taught me how to do the restore file option on windows, though it wont work 100% but I will try it on Monday as my first move.

I will keep you updated with this live test. Sui, it happened!

P.S. If you know something to help me recover my precious files, please, I will appreciate it much! :)

Why Choose the New Threaded Comment System of BlogSpot?

“Communication works for those who work at it.” ~ John Powell (thinkexist.com)

I got good news from Blogger, to all BlogSpot Blogs. This is the biggest twist brought to us by Blogger! Before, many of us try to use the third party comment system such as Disqus and Intensedebate! If you are familiar with them, then you know why several bloggers to choose them over the default comment flat form of BlogSpot blogs. But today, the useful threaded comments can be enjoyed right here at blogger without looking for any third party applications!

Why we need to bother? I tell you, our time will worth it as conversation comes easier! If your blog feed set to full, and if you had chosen to embed comments below post at your comment setting, threaded comments will be automatically seen in your comments.

But if not, if you had chosen the full page or pop-up comments, you have to say goodbye with them and say hello for the embedded below post comments!

Most of you use the pop-up comments; it is a smaller window that opens when I am going to write my comments after reading your post. I invite you to enjoy the threaded comments by following few simple steps.

1. Open your blogger dashboard, go to settings.

2. From settings, choose comments.

3. Down there, change full page or pop-up to embedded below post, hit save settings.

4. From settings, choose site feed then chose full instead of the other options present, hit save settings.

5. Don't forget to save you settings! It's down below and you are done! Now, everyone can enjoy your threaded comments!

I am still working on with mine, my Blog Master (MyBloggerTricks.com) is helping me with it... (Choosing this option under custom templates is not that easy) soon too, here at SB we will enjoy the same commenting option. Anyway, apology for Princess Fiona for taking a screen shot with her blog without permission - peace my friend :) And thank you to Sui generis Writer, I discovered this first at his/her blog and later he/she brought the news with me. (Apology Sui, perhaps tonight your gender will be revealed if you don't mind.)

No to Anger, Yes to Laughter

Laughter gives us distance. It allows us to step back from an event, deal with it and then move on. ~Bob Newhart

Why and Why? Do you want to know why? I was writing with ease last night, that question came to me all in a sudden, and I let it flow in lines. The thought is simply abundant if you do not worry that much. Yes, when I tried to be just me, talking to my friends, chatting and laughing with them - there will be no squeezing at all... I won't be trapped in a difficult puzzle! Well, I am repeating the same thing again tonight.

Some said, they care to know, some said they agree when I tried to conclude here that content is not the king.

Well, for your information, if you are like me, employed, you will actually experience the same thing I experienced yesterday, and worst today. I got it now, it's because we are in the midst of diversity. Workers in the same departments have different opinions... what I don't understand is, why some took it personally? It's work, we put value to it because that's what pays our bills and everything, but it's not the life of us. We must put some thick wall from work and our personal life, am I right or not?

Well, this one involved my life for a humble request of mine that is purely work-related... would you not burst if you were in my pair of old shoes?

~Laugh Out Loud~ We are not supposed to burst in anger, we shall burst with laughter, that's what I did when I decided to went home after lunch, I took some break. And I tell you, it helped a lot guys.

Well now, so much for that drama, ha-ha-ha, see, I also did grin! Tonight, if you do not care to read the first part then you have the choice to read this part, but unfortunately, this far I know you read it already. I really mean not the tell you that you got choices!

Content is not the King! What is the King? Why some expert say it's the King, and why some concluded it's not?

Well, I got you an excerpt here:

"I definitely agree with you about content not being everything~ that will only get you so far in the blogging world. The dynamic *force* must be YOU ~ heart and the and personality behind the words!!! That is what keeps this reader coming back for more!"
~ Princess Fiona aka Professor of Poetry

When you and I read, we are actually feeling, if we feel nothing, then what we read is completely written in the absence of heart... does it still worth reading?

Why and Why? Care to Know Why?

"What you see, what you read is the poetry behind me. This is what it takes to live a life."

Why and why I incorporate blogging tricks right here at SB, and why I challenge you all to know about it little by little?

1. Content is not enough. We need to have a virtual home where we can accommodate our readers and friends.

2. With helpful, humorous or content that can certainly draw readers attention, plus a welcoming blog looks, our blogging experience is truly unforgettable.

3. SB is built in an effort to bring you a different concept of blogging, where the author, I, do not absolutely believe that 'content is the King'. It's not enough.

4. I can recommend you a must followed tutorials on how to build a totally distinctive blog, where you can call it your own, why I bother sharing you the tricks right here? Well, it's different, in here I can totally feel you, because few months ago I was once a totally complete stranger of the spices that will add the taste to our blogs.

5. Well, where is the poetry, where are the life matters? Let me think for a while, ummmmmm, I got you the answer. What you read now, is the poetry and life behind me. This is what it takes to live a life...

If I won't tell you now, you won't feel I was furious couple of hours ago right? Well, I was. I was bursting with disgust. Care to ask me what it is? Well, it's secret for now. It's work related again, what I do now is think, think, reflect, smile, smile, laugh, focus, breath, breath again... I am on the process of letting go... and sharing you these wonderful things is part of the process. Let us all smile guys!

Well, as for the challenge, you must respond to it...

A Sunday Special - The Subscription Widget 4 You!

If the Princess of Passion gave us the challenge of poetry, I'll give you the challenge of my passion as well, don't say no:)

(Updated! - With Visual Aid or Illustration)

Well, tonight must be special, it's Sunday night... I talked to my B and after I put her into a tight sleep I start adding one helpful function at the top right corner of the comment box here. It's the subscription widget. Well, these days, we do not want to miss any post of our blogger friends... Is that true guys? We want that all of us here will experience the so-called productive blogging. I keep on writing because I know that you will be here. So despite of our busy schedule we managed to read one's blog, this time we will make it easier to both of us. SB is a community of bloggers, so let's make it at our convenience.

In my simple way I am glad to know that at first, Balqis and Princess Fiona appreciated the bold prints. Most of us can do this when we are writing our post, but don't you know we can do this too when writing our comments to give that so-called emphasis? Just envelope the words with the opening <b> and the closing </b>! So it may look like this, <b>My Sunday Special Post!</b>.

Yet so much for that, aside from the bold thing, and my sincere invitation for you to add your blog links to our New! SB Blog Directory, I have one humble present, the customized email subscription widget for your blog right here! I love this stuff and I want to share it here with you guys. I am not really into writing tutorial here, but I feel the need to give this to you. Anyway, have you put your subscription box or widget already at your blog? If not, this one is for you.

Go to your Blogger dashboard, open Design and select the add widget/gadget, choose HTML/Javascript and copy and paste the one I have for you below, but first you need to edit it... oh come on Prime, I forget asking you if you have the feedburner account already, but for now I'll assumed you have one, or if not please create yours here.

Kindly click the link provided to see the illustration below.
1. From Dashboard to Design
2. From Design to Add Gadget
3. From Add Gadget to HTML/Javascript

Here is the code... please copy them all, paste it at your new widget/gadget.

<style>

</style>
<![endif]-->

<div class='sbbar12'>
<div class='emailsub1'>
<div class='emailicon11'><p style='width:270px;color:#000000;font-size:13px;font-weight: normal; font-family: Helvetica, Arial; padding:0; margin:0;'>Replace with your message, at least two lines just like the one we have here!</p></div>
<div class='emailupdatesform'>
<form action='http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify' method='post' onsubmit='window.open(&apos;http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=SimplifiedBlogging&apos;, &apos;popupwindow&apos;, &apos;scrollbars=yes,width=550,height=520&apos;);return true' target='popupwindow'><input class='emailupdatesinput' gtbfieldid='10' name='email' onblur='if (this.value == &apos;&apos;) {this.value = &apos;Enter your email to subscribe...&apos;;}' onfocus='if (this.value == &apos;Enter your email to subscribe...&apos;) {this.value = &apos;&apos;;}' type='text' value='Enter your email to subscribe...'/><input name='uri' type='hidden' value='SimplifiedBlogging'/><input class='joinemailupdates' type='submit' value='Submit'/></form></div></div></div>

All you have to do is change some value, no, it's not what you think, it's simple guys.

1.- if your sidebar is a bit smaller, you need to change the number there from 300 to 250 and the like, I indicated all the numbers that are needed to be adjusted if it doesn't fit with the size of your sidebar... let's do some experiments.

2.- Put your message, at least two lines, or it depends to the size of your sidebar, if it looks nice then go with shorter one.

3.- The most important one, if you have the feedburner account, you can see this at your address, mine is http://feeds.feedburner.com/SimplifiedBlogging, yours will looks just the same except for your title or name, so please replace SimplifiedBlogging to your feedburner name. Remember, there are two SimplifiedBlogging in the codes, replace the two of them with yours.

4.- Save and drag it to the desired part of your sidebar where this customized subscription widget you want to appear. Good luck guys.

I challenge you all to do this, let's spice up the coming week with the pleasure of this experiment. You can make it for sure. Tell me all the troubles that might block your way in putting this email subscription widget, I will always extend my hand.

Goodluck guys.

I Got News

“Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence” ~ Aristotle

Hello SB Community! Now I am back with some news. I was not able to bring you some 'thing' to ponder yesterday because I was busy trying to add the 'thumbs up and thumbs down' feature for comments. But, sometimes things wont work for a reason, that's what I believe for spending a long evening making some nice mess on the other experimental blog I have. But for now, life is back to normal, actually I am doubling my speed at work because I have so much to do just to meet my deadline, and blogging will be always part of the routine.

Here are the good news:

1. Last time I successfully added my animated signature, you can see it on the comment section... so what? Well, I am giving a free animated signature giveaway! How about that?

2. Instead of the one I failed to do, sharing is made a lot easier, at your comment section, you can instantly support and promote the SB Community using the addthis sharing widget! :) (You will see that on the right bottom of your response just before 'reply' button.)

3. We have something new! Look at the top sidebar and you will see our customized social icons exclusive for the SB Community! You can also easily subscribe via email!

4. Where is My B's blog? Well, I respect her as I love her, I know she is kind enough to answer that for you guys... (She is going to be here...)

Do we have the reason to smile now? Yes, we always have!
