The One-Week Self-Evaluation Activity

“You control your future, your destiny. What you think about comes about. By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put your future in good hands - your own.” ~ Mark Victor Hansen

Before the end of 2011, I am really excited to conduct a complete audit on myself and I am also inviting you to join the self-evaluation week here at SB.

I've been searching Google and I found many ways on how to do the self-evaluation, but at this point in time, we are going to set our own criteria on how to complete the one-week activity.

We are not all expert about the matter, but we can audit ourselves according to our outlooks and goals in the future, I believe we all have it. Our objectives may vary, but I know we will share the same common things along the way.

I know you are willing to cooperate with me, I am sure this is going to be something worth pondering with.

Let's start this week by asking:

1. What are the things that I need to evaluate on myself and why?

Note: You can also improve the question above, if you think there is something better to start with.

To answer my question, I am more into evaluating myself about the decisions that I made lately. I want to know if I have grown up to be a better person base on major decisions I took in my life. Well, honestly, there were few, and some of then left me regretful. There were few opportunities that knocked my door, but I just wasted it in making haste actions. I was supposed to complete my 4-year course but because of it I lost all the chance. Yet, I don't want to be bitter to myself anymore as I took it a lesson worth learning so I did go on and here I am now.

I give myself a chance to be at my best after my fall! I stood up after I was stumbled in the ground. I able to surpass the challenge of unemployment for most of the undergraduates, and I am so thankful about that. Today, I am more into putting time and effort in making my own steps and decisions in life. It's never been easier to fail after all my hard works so I am more careful this time.

Haste is waste, I proved it to be true. Sometimes the capabilities of our instinct cannot always lead us to a better result, it's always better to allocate time in decision making, specially those that can affect our lifetime.

Now, it's your time, I am confident that you will make this activity successful and helpful to both of us. I am looking forward for your cooperation my friends.

Love is Like A Bloomed Flower

Love is everywhere
Christmas scents the atmosphere
Like a bloomed flower

SB Community is not a group of one, and I sincerely respect each one of our beliefs and traditions here, and what makes me so thankful is that we are united as one in this Yuletide Season because you are here regardless of our religious background.

We people are imperfect, but there is one thing that will lessen our imperfections, and that is love. The good news is we are all capable of loving... (the main thought or message of this line is credited to the movie that touched my heart - Chocolate!)

And the Haiku I penned tonight is my humble gift to you my dear friends.

Have a great evening to all of you!

Christmas is...

Christmas is about opening our hearts and shutting them. Accommodate the spirit of the born Savior by opening the door of our hearts and closing them for His Spirit to rule us forever! ~ Prime Aque

I and Ed are wishing you all a Merry Christmas! I am actually speechless at this very moment, though we are far from our families, and I from my beloved ~**B**~, I know distance will not thwart us to share the spirit of Christmas! Wish you all the best!

The Equality of Life

“Equality still exists even if it’s nowhere to see. In God’s eyes, we all fall in queue.”

Who would say we are not equal? Speaking about life we are just the same. Nobody stands higher, nobody. Today, I want you to argue with me, let’s have some spicy conversation about it.

It is true that in a huge sphere, a portion of it belongs to wealthy ones, with enough luxuries in life; a much visible and bigger part of it belongs to the counts of poor families… now, can I still insist life is made equal for rich and poor?

Does it mean equal for the one dump a garbage bag with left overs than a scavenger delighted for the full garbage bins along the street?

Does it mean equal for a child with stomach full than a street one who is starving?

Or does it mean equal for the people who fest than those who grieve?

A government enjoys the abundance and its people struggle amidst scarcity, where is the angle of equality? Yet the equality of life does exist… We are equal before abundance and scarcity. We are equal before laughter and mourning. God is just… He loves fairness… In His eyes, we stand on the same ground.

I have a proof in my head, but I dare you to present yours…

A Light Subject

Today we are moving on... after telling you some sad reality, and the greatness of generosity, we are heading forward for our inspiration, yes, this is a kind of a light subject for this evening. Today is slightly bad because I feel so much pain on my back, so I got a massage after my work and for the time being I am ready to sit here and open SB and visit you. I will make sure that this day is an another worth reading part of my own story.

Anyway, I will simply ask you tonight... what inspired your to share your thoughts? what inspired your to click the 'new post', to write something and to publish it with excitement?

  • Are you unloading some bothersome thoughts?
  • Are you overwhelmed with insights worth sharing?
  • Or do you write something because you don't know what's really happening and you want to seek an answer along the way?
  • Or do you just scribble because you don't know what to write at all?

All these queries will lead us to one common answer, and that is learning along the process, that is what the skillful and the amateur share in common. I might left you hanging tonight, but I just want to tell you that if you do not have something in mind, squeezing your head for a post, just simply sit down and write your thoughts, you will learn something, you got your head, your heart and your keyboard. That's what I am exactly doing now.

We are bloggers here, we write or we are not bloggers at all...

An Offering From the Heart - Fibonacci

I offer this humble poetry for all the people who heartily helped the victims of the Typhoon Sendong... and to take the Fibonacci Challenge (for the second time)!

~***~
Hand
Need
Your help
Big or small
With love made so valuable
Offering your heart to feed the starving soul
We were raised and taught to help one another with intention so pure
All people that dwell in this earthy paradise have seen the fulfillment of life upon seeing their hearts engulfed with fervor
Helping might be meager but a treasure when human extended it with rapture
The one who stumble will be so grateful
Life has fulfill its goal
With your heart
Help someone
Sincere
Joyful
~***~

Everyday I am always trying to look for ways to incorporate 'life' into different forms of entries like short posts, short views, haiku, poems, Fibonacci and other short type of poetry to give us an inspiring blogging time after what our physical body felt and our naked eyes have seen and witnessed in the world around us.

Thank you to all of you who are always here, you inspired me and I am here to inspire you as well...

Doing Small Things With Great Love

I am happy to share to you 3 quotes that touched my heart from Mother Teresa:

“We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love.”

“It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.”

“Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”

Tonight I want talk about generosity with you as I am so thankful for all the helped the typhoon victims received... People are hand in hand giving big and small things to support the families who lost almost everything.

Tonight I am happy that in unison, people have shown an act of kindness towards fellowmen who are in need with sincerity.

The Prayer

Typhoon Sendong hit Cagayan de Oro and nearby areas and cities... it just didn't damaged properties but killed many lives, I don't like mentioning the figure here.

I heard about this and watched the news, I sat in front of the television till the end holding back my tears.

Properties can be replaced, but those poor fellows, mostly women and children cannot be brought back again after Typhoon Sendong ceased their precious lives.

Tonight I want to sincerely to talk to You Father. I just want to see their bereaved families stay strong in the midst of that tragedy. No one expect it to happen, all of them are not ready to say goodbye. I want them to be healed with Your love and grace, I pray that the letting go will be much easier for them to go on with the rest of their lives. We live for all the good things and the bad... I pray that despite of that sorrowful chapter, they won't stop seeking the bright side of their lives... their loved ones' journey had ended for this earthy home, but their quest is not yet over. Strengthen them Father. Let them draw closer to you...

Please join me...

SB Blog Directory - Updated!

Here we go to the next pace. I will tell you one simple secret to make your blog alive base on my short blogging experience...

Make yourself belong. Wander around and mingle new faces. Establish relationship true leaving a track of your thoughts sincerely rather than leaving the link of your page. Your interest will attract them to do the same for you.

This is a special post for a blessed Sunday, so before going further I wish you a wonderful day ahead of you.

I am talking about a new concept here at SB Community. My main purpose as a 'reader' and 'follower' is that I want to keep track to all my friends who have contributed some thoughts about our entries here. To put things at ease, I want to build a directory (an alphabetical directory as planned).

Rest assured that all the members of this directory will see 'SB' presence at their blogs, if not everyday, at least in a week where I and my partner got the extra time mingling and meeting new blogger friends.

Visitors of the SB Community will also experience an ease of finding new blogs worth reading at the SB Blog Directory.

Feed Love with Trust

Feed love with trust and it will grow enduring.

What it takes to be happy? I know you will answer me various answers. People have different criteria about a happy life. A happy life consist of many things, but what are the basic ones?

People struggle everyday to at least provide their basic needs, but that won't be enough to make one happy. Shelter, food, clothing, even sex won't make us happy... As I've reviewed Maslow's hierarchy of needs, I will stop at love and belonging.

Love and belonging will make you see how beautiful the world is, it will bring colors to your life.

I won't focus on two couple ended up a fairy tale love story this time, I want to extend love on a wider concept. How many people around you? Did you belong to them or do you belong only to yourself?

Here comes trust. Trust makes love grow stronger. We are loving by nature, but how can we nurture that feeling? My answer, feed love with trust... and it will grow enduring.

You belong because you are loved and trusted. But one hurtful question, what it takes to win ones' trust? Is that too expensive only few can afford?

Can you let someone starve for trust even in his utmost best to win yours?

I was betrayed but once again I let myself healed by love. Trust? I am not that selfish not to give mine... I know one, two, three or even more people deserve it.
